I got this for Christmas and watched it last night, very good I thought and as Arthur mentioned, the soundtrack is OK too - reminiscent of the KPM/De Wolfe library music. The end sequence is filmed outside the Bramley Arms (presumably filmed around the same time as The Sweeney's "Loving Arms" as it has the same colour scheme) and apparently, ex members of the underworld were hired by the filmmakers to ensure that they could film without any incidents as this area was pretty rough and notorious at the time of filming. This film is everything that previous contributors to this thread said it would be and I wasn't disappointed, I would recommend it too

Yes very good film, which I'd recommend. Keach was very good in particular playing a British cop (is there a slight hint of an Irish accent?).

Blimey, it doesn't feel like 2 years since we were talking about this film.
Stephen Boyd died of a heart attack aged 45 just a few months after the film was released. He was in some big films like 'Ben Hur' then later starred in several films in Italy. He & David Hemmings are excellent together in scenes like this-

I was thinking about watching this one again. Captured 1970s London to a tee and maybe gives an impression of what it would have been like if Leon Griffiths wrote The Sweeney.

I can see where you're coming from Ken. Its a great snapshot of 70s London. It takes a trip on The Sweeney bandwagon that's for sure but that's no bad thing.

It's a very under rated 70's British crime film. If you like The Sweeney/Get Carter/Villain/McVicar etc. don't see no reason why you'd not like The Squeeze.

Easily one of my favourite films of the 1970's!
Watching this one cannot help think it's a bit of a shame that Freddie Starr didn't do a few more things like this...

Here's a few publicity shots on Alamy to give you a bit of a flavour of it all.
Enjoy.
