Their main hit in the UK was 'Wishing (If I Had A Photograph Of You)'.
They had another top 30 hit which I liked, 'The More You Live, The More You Love'.
I thought they were OK, but 'Wishing' had a similar-sounding riff to Tubular Bells and they had distinctive (to put it politely) fashions which dated them to a particular time. Cheers for that info. Tyne Tees Colour. I don't think 'Wishing' was a hit at all in Australia. Looking through a 2005 edition of British Hit Singles, 'Wishing' made No.10 in late 1982; 'I Ran' only got to No.43 in the UK.

Interesting Vienna I would've thought I Ran would have been Top 40 arguably it's as played and well known as ''wishing" was;)

It seems to have been more of an International hit. I saw A Flock Of Seagulls in concert. It wasn't particularly memorable

"Telecommunication" was another A Flock Of Seagulls single, I remember it as my brother had a t shirt of the sleeve art. The singer had his hair like that in a double comb over as he was thin on top. Dave Hill of Slade used to have that fringe for the same reason, he would comb his hair from the back a la Colin Crompton.

Another one-hit wonder from 1983 I used to like. Australian synthpop act Flash and the Pan had a very minor hit in 1978, but this was their only Top 40 UK success.

Sam. That's interesting how varied or localised hits were for bands. I remember 'Flash and the Pan' as Molly Meldrum on Countdown continually talked them up and played their videos. They had a few early hits in Australia. They were quite basic vids back then ! Btw don't watvh this vid and then let the next one simply start by default. I started typing this post while I listened to 'Hey St Peter' and then when it finished a piano solo by Richard Clayderman started ! Varied tastes by that ytub channel !

One of my all time favourite records was a 1980s one hit wonder, Echo Beach by Martha and the Muffins from Feb/March 1980
