I've listened to these on YouTube after TOTP went off and that @&*% 'The Good Old Days' came on BBC Four. These may not be everyone's favourites on here but here goes. First up is The Girl With Sun In Her Head by OrbitalIf you like intelligent electronic dance music then their album In Sides has many tracks on it you'll like and being released in 1996 and now over 20 years old surely it's 'retro' now? Anyway I rediscovered this a few years back when loading most of my stuff onto mp3 and have been hooked with it and the mid 90's arguably was just as fertile a time for dance music (FSOL, Underworld, Chemicals, Fluke, Warp Records stuff, Leftfield, etc.) as the parallel Brit Pop scene was, kind of wish a similar music force took over the charts now. Next up is a live version of Stringy Acid again by OrbitalI didn't see them at this gig recorded in Manchester in 2012 but did in Liverpool, Sheffield and London (Brixton Academy) and the Sheffield gig and Stringy Acid sticks in my mind of having it's bassline literally going through my body and feeling chuffed to bits having a drink on West Street after doing that gig. Unfortunately Orbital called it day in 2014 but the brothers are still active musically and just glad do have shared a small portion of the sounds that I'm into.

Another one I've fired up is Bodyrock by MobyJust found it on the YouTube playlist. It's not my 'greatest' track by any means but has something about it I do like quite a lot. Mind you shame they wipe out that Sierra in the vid mind you they were as common as muck when this video got made back in 1999.

These may not be everyone's favourites on here but here goes. That doesn't matter DE. It's what you're listening to that's important. Orbital are a great band and I particularly like "Little Fluffy Clouds". The Rickie Lee Jones stuff on it is brilliant.

LOL Windy. Fluffy Little Clouds was by The Orb not Orbital but both great electronic acts which emerged in the 90s IMO Speaking of The Orb quite partial to their 1992 track Blue Room and have seen them a few times too.

I listen to a lot of music, usually my "go to" bands such as The Beatles, Oasis, The Stone Roses (you get the picture) but I have been listening to this a lot lately. Probably not many of you will like it but there is a line in it that goes "sheep follow sheep baa baa to the abattoir" which sums it up really that it would be dull if we all liked the same stuff. The band is from Glasgow, they're called Girobabies, this song is called Planet Fort Knox and if you like it you should give "Equinox" a spin too

Great video - particularly like the fact Girobabies drink Yorkshire Hard Tea

Now playing on the Gene Genie Juke Box is this little gem from Ruby (Tom Fogerty) called BART (named after the San Francisco Bay Area Underground.
BART also formed from the initials of the Christian names of the main band members - B (obby Cochrane) A (nthony Davis) R (andy Oda) T (on Fogerty)
The track is synonymous with BBC testcards and was used to play out the closure of analogue teletext in the UK in October 2012.
