I wonder how safe "The Health-Ray" really was at the time? I imagine it wouldn't be sold these days Thanks for sharing these Arthur I certainly wouldn't use one, apart from the cancer risk you can end up looking like a radish if you're not careful!

I wouldn't touch that 'Health Ray' (sic) with a barge pole mate. Like the link with Barry Arthur... surprised you didn't grill him when he set foot in the Barley Mow! Like the ad for the Chrysler Avenger too... Shame they (Rootes) went down the pan over the following through years too and the Avenger looks like a shrunken Cortina in that ad.

Chrysler Avenger ad reminds me of a good friend of mine.
Stuck fake fur all over the interior.
Fake fur seats added too.
When we went into London for a night out in the late 70s thought we were dead cool.
With hindsight that may not be entirely true.......

Definitely not Stan.
A mate of mine did it to his Capri RS3100 lookalike and wondered why no-one else would accept a lift from him, he even had the furry dice to complement it.
One lunchtime from college he drove back from the pub on his own while three of us squeezed into an MG-C.

Sam. Sam - didn't mention the furry dice as just assumed it would be read that this was included! Plus a rather fetching blue sun strip across the top of the windscreen emblazoned in white with 'Capital Radio'. An interesting but by no means unique look. Stan

Sorry but can someone embed this please (if needed)??
As a bit of a tribute to Brucey here's a TV advert for the Chrysler Avenger I remember;
I also seem to remember another one where the little lad who played "Tristan" in the Fourmile family next door to George and Mildred, was also in the advert and pretty much the same character as Tristran. Can't remember what he says but after he says it, Brucey walks him up to the front of the Avenger (in speeded up motion) and is just about throw the bucket of water at the car again (and presumably over poor Tristan!) but the film stops!
