I wonder whether 'not yet ready for colour?' on the Radio Rentals ad means that some areas weren't receiving tv in colour yet or was it a polite way of saying 'can't afford a colour tv?'. Perhaps some thought colour tv was the work of the devil. There's an episode of On The Buses from around that time where Olive wants a new colour tv, Arthur tells her that he's 'quite satisfied' with black & white and that 'they haven't got the colours right yet, they look unnatural'.
