What he says about being in a long series being mentally & physically debilitating, especially if you don't like the character you're playing, makes you understand why he had problems with The Professionals, but it also makes you wonder why he took the job in the first place.

Absolutely, it was a job at the end of the day. His biggest to date. I thought he did a good job on Doyle right up to the end. Would his star be so bright if The Professionals never happened?

Interesting that Lewis drives a Renault 5 and rides a motorbike, as that is what was used in Who Dares Wins.

Yeah remember that motor show 'accident' with Lewis quite well IIRC it received a fair bit of coverage on the TV news back in 1980. Who Dares Wins was on London Live a few weeks back. Not bad and in some respects the Pros movie which never was but something feels missing for me. Still not quite the car crash of those German made actioners Lew did in the mid/late 80s

Even though i was young at the time I remember The Professionals being all the kids in my school spoke about.They were the biggest thing on TV and for us kids a the time a lot of that was the cars and driving Couple of good articles as ever Arthur Thanks for posting.
