Well what a fantastic day that was! It was really great to spend a day outside London visiting the legendary Carry On locations with the 4:3 squad! Gene - well done for putting together a brilliant itinerary, the locations were top drawer, standing outside the houses and locations from Camping, Behind, Loving, Cabby and others was amazing, these are places I had wanted to visit for years. Thanks guvnor! Thanks for sorting the food Sam and thanks for organising the motors Del And on that subject, thanks to Athene Noctua for being a great wheelswoman and to Bronson too for your company in the motor Del dressing up as Bernard Bresslaw and standing outside Mrs Fussey's house was brilliant! And Dirty Epic, your impression of Mrs Fussey was spot on! Everyone I spoke to really enjoyed the day and felt that Carry On was an excellent choice for a locations meet We now have an almost endless list of TV shows and films we can cover, so roll on the next meet and the next!... I will post a section of photos during the next few days, but for now I will just post this then and now of Maidenhead Town Hall - an absolute icon in terms of the Carry Ons, standing outside the building was like stepping on to the set of Doctor, Again Doctor and Behind! Carry on meet or Sweeney meet, it was equally a good day out! and always will be when the topic of the day involves reminissing with old friends and of course the usual 'then and now' comparing! which will always be addictive in itself! Gene Genie the Genius thanks mate! for your enthusiasum and for what was another well organised meet, where precision was at the top of your agenda lol! and not forgetting Sam or anybody else!.. Seriously though! the idea of alternating the theme of the meets, opens up a pandoras box of endless fun, banter and surprises! Happy Days!

Well, what an enjoyable meet we all had yesterday. The move into other retro TV / film was welcome and the choice of locations added to the banter and camaraderie.
Just a few highlights included
- drivers instructions: clear, concise, accurate - Royal Oak: iconic, convenient, decent food & service - Henry then & now photo (for some reason a member of the public thought it a tad unusual reason to interrupt a Sunday afternoon stroll to take a snap!) - screengrabs: paper and laminated versions - Pinewood houses: largely unchanged and to correct Mrs Fussey 'necessary' - although as Sid said at least we didn't upset the 'b****y neighbours!' - 'Screaming' gates: again unchanged - just waiting for the words 'you're a bit of a piglet...' - Cabby: various top road locations - nice to see subtle changes in traffic calming.... - Long Hampton Hospital: as The Saint said above - a top location - memorabilia: Mick was delighted with the screengrabs; I came away with a stylish 4:3tv car sticker My personal view - a favourite meet and a resounding success. Really appreciate the painstaking effort and time put in by Sam, Del, Saint and especially The Guv'nor, Gene. To borrow from Carly Simon - when it comes to these meets 'Nobody Does It Better'.
Cheers,
Stan

Many thanks Gene for a fabulous day on Sunday. You did a brilliant job organising the day for us all, and I for one really do appreciate all the work you put into making the day run so smoothly. Thanks also to Sam for organising dinner at The Royal Oak. Excellent choice of pub with good cider (Aspalls) and the roast beef Sunday dinner was excellent. It goes without saying the venue for lunch was also an excellent choice, it too being The Royal Oak. Thanks also go to Del for organising the transport, and to Peter Picard who admirably drove DE and me to the locations without us getting lost, or having to do U Turns, or ask a policeman for directions. Absolutely loved all the Carry On locations. It seemed everywhere you looked in Windsor and the surrounding area, there’s a location from some Carry On film or another. Gene - I liked the route you detailed out for the drivers that took us past pubs that had been locations in the Carry On Films. I also really enjoyed the Saturday Pre-Meet up Pub Crawl, along with Vienna, Bronson, Gene, John Steed, Dirty Epic, Del Boy and Perfect Pseudonym. Shame Perfect Pseudonym over did the beers and couldn’t make it to the Meet on Sunday. It was a fantastic and memorable weekend, doing something new for a 4:3 TV Forum Meet. Whilst I do enjoy doing The Sweeney locations, the broader scope of 4:3 TV Forum means we can do so much more and visit locations from other great tv series or feature films. Here’s a couple of pics from the day – A now of the shop from Carry On Camping where the tents are purchased :- And a pic of Sam Tyler and Bernard Bresslaw discussing how to get to the next location:-

....Really appreciate the painstaking effort and time put in by Sam, Del, Saint and especially The Guv'nor, Gene. Great report Stan Just to put it on record, I took a backseat with regards to any part of the meet organisation this time, it was all down to Inspector Gene, ably assisted by his two sergeants Sam and Del Full credit to them The Saint

What a fantastic weekend! It was great to try a new topic for the weekend and has to be one of the best meets yet. As always we were blessed with decent weather and it was great to see so many regular members who collectively make these days so much fun with all of the banter and re-enactments etc.
A massive thanks to Gene Hunt for driving me down on Saturday in that gorgeous motor and for organising the itinerary with military precision as you always do!
Thanks to Sam Tyler for booking the meals and thanks Del Boy for organising the transport and of course thanks Brown Granada for driving us around on Sunday, it is always a pleasure to be a passenger in your classic Mk1 Granada. Thanks also to everyone who was out for a drink on Saturday evening. What a hugely successful and thoroughly enjoyable meet and roll on the next one.
