Not sure how true this is,but I did read somewhere that Ringo evicted Jimi from the Montague Square pad,as Jimi had painted the very expensive wallpaper black without permission. Never been much into Hendrix,obviously he was an extremely good guitar player,but I never much dug his voice and there are other guitarists out there who play just as well as Jimi IMO.Mitch Mitchell was a fine,fine drummer.Just a shame he never went on to join another named band after The Hendrix Experience,he was certainly good enough.McCartney said that Mitchell auditioned for Wings in the early 70s but didn't impress,thought he had the job in the bag so no need to exert himself too much.

I remember my dad playing this to me when I was about 7/8. I then had a huge Hendrix t-shirt (the smallest you could get, I imagine) and my cousins teased me like mad when we went to visit them because they didn't know who or what he was. Their loss ...

Jimi. One of the most beautiful men ever to grace this earth. He was so gorgeous and so talented and I have a folder on one of my harddrives full of documentaries about him. And yes, were I a groupie in the 60s, I so would have!
