Thanks Windy I see Romain Grosjean has a new car under his Haas F1 has been in the news today regarding the introduction of either the Halo safety device (See Below) or a fully enclosed cockpit. Personally I think the halo is ridiculous and a enclosed cock pit would be better looking. I can't imagine the drivers being at all happy with a bar right slap bang in the middle of the car.

They're slowly sanitising it. They'll enclose the wheels next. I know there have been some deaths and they are not welcome but I'm pretty sure that they know the risks and accept it as part and parcel of the sport they choose to participate in. Why not just put roll cages and Saab type bumpers on them and have done with it. In my opinion, F1 is supposed to be the balls to wall driving, howling engines, noise, speed, driven by testosterone fuelled ego maniacs.

I can't see them days returning Steve. Its more likely to end up with more green initiatives.

Pastor Maldonado leaves Renault, and F1 altogether following news that he will be replaced by Kevin Magnussen. I've read that his sponsers had fallen behind with payments, and Maldonado's seat was paid for in F1 in the past by Venezuelen Oil Company PDVSA to the tune of some £20 million a year, but the country's economy had collapsed recently due to falling oil prices.
GH.

No loss there as far as I'm concerned.

GH. Good news. There should be no place in F1 for untalented drivers who are only in the sport for the amount of money they can pay for their seat.

Couldn't agree more. Some of the pundits talk about his flashes of breathtaking speed. Fact is, anyone can drive fast. It's keeping the car away from the other cars and the barriers that's the tricky bit.
Good luck to him in the future though.
Gene.
