Good old Steph... Always looked like she'd been chewing a lemon (no pun) in between takes.

She does look awfully stern most of the time I think i'm right in saying that things didn't work out between her and the people in charge of the Sweeney, and thats why she was killed off in the series. I believe it is discussed on one of the DVD Commentaries on The Sweeney box-set (possibly Night Out episode commentary) I remember liking this show back in the early 80's, it was always on in our house and at a guess i would say it was on Sunday evenings.

Very true Del Boy. Yeah Stephanie Turner wanted some kind of retainer when playing the character of Alison Carter which Euston Films weren't prepared to give so they killed her off in Series 2. I reckon her links with IKM helped her get the Juliet Bravo gig. She was certainly a bit 'Po Faced' at times and wouldn't have been too out of place as one of the 'screws' on the original PCBH! LOL!

Good post Saint, I do like the Juliet Bravo theme. It was arranged by Derek Goom from a Bach piece but I have no idea which one. It was released by the BBC on a 45 in 1980. As everyone has said she always did look very serious but here's a picture from happier times.

Here's a Then and Now photo of Hartley police station. And now, actually Bacup police station in Lancashire. Apparently the station was closed and the building auctioned off a year or two ago. I believe it is going to be converted into flats.
