I love that scene. Back when Sam was sober and sensible , you seem to be making him in your own image these days. But they just let you fall! I'd have helped you up.

I watched S3E8 and S2E2 last night. I had a strange compulsion to watch the end, but I can never leave it at that because that's horrendously sad. So then cheered myself up with a *cough* cheery episode about gypsies, drugs, Masons and "Come on, Eileen!"
"You have a very pretty face but you go on longer than the Eurovision Song Contest"
"You're playing with them?" "No that's just the way I'm standing"
and other such gems.

Can't believe that pony Foyles War is #1 in this 'poll'. No need to 'revive' it that tosh is perpetually never off ITV3!
A few other rogue's in that Top 10 gallery too.

So, I've given myself time to purchase the rag in question, made tolerable by the rather sexy cover: god himself draped over a gorgeous car and a little rat in a leather jacket in the foreground, but we can look past that.
There are no sources, there are no statistics, no mention of who they asked or who bothered to vote (presumably a mixture of the retired, the unemployed and Radio Times employees themselves). Consequently I don't really feel that it's anything I need to lose any sleep over. I would also point out that, if by some bizarre twist of fate (and let's face it Sam, you and I are rather used to the bizarre) Life On Mars really is more popular than Ashes to Ashes ... I've never been convinced that being liked by Joe Public is anything to celebrate. Most of life's hidden gems are, by definition, out of the mainstream consciousness.
And to be honest, the only person's opinion I would truly value on the topic of Sam Tyler vs Alex Drake is the Guv's. So ... which is it to be, Gene?

I was paid more for Ashes to Ashes as it ran for 3 series as opposed to 2.

All joking aside Bolly, these so-called Top 10's are always a load of pony and I wonder who even bothers to commission them in the first place - and that's before the non-entities that actually bother to "vote". It was probably something dreamed up by the editor and there was a quick poll around the RT office Looking at the ten listed, why would Phoenix Nights even appear in the same list as Life On Mars? I could understand it if The Office appeared instead of Phoenix Nights, not that I liked either but The Office was certainly the more popular of the two. And as for The Bill, well, in its original weekly one hour format it was okay but when it became a soap - forget it! Perhaps "Radio Times Polls" are another candidate for Room 101? Sam.

In saying that it isn't difficult to guess who'd offer to get the splinter out. Sam.
