A mate of mine has got 2 Trabants & a Wartburg. I think they're great little motors. There aren't many creature comforts, I admit, but they're quite nippy & fun to drive. Once you get used to driving a 'left hooker' on British roads it's ok.

That's probably true Del.
The father of a kid down our street had a Wartburg Knight that he converted to run on paraffin. It used to spit and fart wherever it went, and the ride in it was truly more uncomfortable than another neighbour's Reliant Robin.
They were the eccentric neighbours, the rest had normal cars like Fords, Vauxhalls, and Austin / Morris.
Anyway, back to topic...
Sam.

I quite enjoyed the episode last night, looking forward to next week, will see what transpires over the coming weeks! Quite interesting when you're rooting for the main character despite him working for the "dark side" but it also shows perhaps later how the Commies were not really able to do much even when they were presented with Top Secret info!
I think we can sympathise with the Martin/Moritz character as he's a reluctant pawn in the game, who was just so happened to have been born and bred in the East. Gives you an idea what the oppressed people there were forced to do against their will.

Watched episode 1 and was quite impressed. It will be interesting how the Martin/Moritz character will be used as a pawn by his East German associates and whether his exposure to the West and the West German army will turn him. Looks good overall this one.

It's not often I listen to theme tunes nowadays, but the one for this is quite good.

Episode 3 last night... I think the storyline is unfolding nicely, and as others have said, he's slowly getting drawn into the West's lifestyle. Wonder if it'll end up with him staying / defecting? Pretty funny sequences with them trying to work out what to do with a floppy disk, and having to borrow compatible equipment! Pretty severe reaction to the girl's cats in the flat... think poor old Vienna would set him right off (especially with that luxuriant long fur of his!)
