Excellent smudges Sam from what looks to have been a great event again. Absolutely love the old school Fords. Must try and get down to this myself one of the years. Thanks for posting Gene.

It was a good show but unfortunately there was a prang between two of the cars during the afternoon.
Where the cars are parked up on the banking, most owners add chocks under their wheels instead of relying solely on the handbrake. Unfortunately there was a white Silver Shadow that hadn't been chocked. While the owner was away it rolled down the banking, glanced off the side of an MGB GT putting a dent in the side of that, and then embedded itself into the concrete wall just below the bridge. The nearside front wing across to the radiator was all pushed in.
Whilst none of us are strangers to seeing cars getting pranged it was disheartening to see it happen to two cherished cars at an event such as this and I can only imagine how I would have felt if it had been one of mine there.

Sam. Thats's unfortunate Sam. Being a Silver Shadow it has an automatic gearbox, so for the parking brake and the 'Park' lock on the gearbox to both fail at the same time is very unlucky! The Saint

Great pics Sam. I particularly like the Hillman Avenger and 1100. I always like to see once commonplace cars preserved.

Sam. Seems quite unfortunate indeed that Sam. Hope the damage to both cars wasn’t too bad either. Great selection of pictures as per usual Sam. Guilty pleasure I actually like those two Ford Orion’s as I used to own one many moons ago. Yes I know they were crap but have a soft spot for the booted ‘Scort take it they were 1600 E/Ghia Injection models and so much better than the clapped out tank I had. Also again perhaps a little bog standard but I also liked that mid-80’s Cavalier hatch too and looking at the model/spec seems a very, very rare one to be preserved and just nice that some of these cars which were commonplace say 10-15 years ago are getting persevered to some degree even if a few of them have some non-standard kit added to them. Also liked it that some bikes are stars of the show along with the cars on show and some of the Yank Muscle Cars were very tasty pieces of steel too the Mustang’s are probably the best IMO. Agree with Gene will have to pop down to this one day too. Thanks again for sharing Sam.

There was quite a bit of damage to the Roller but from what I could see the MG looked to be just the door skin. Still not good.
I know what you mean about the Orion, Annie had one years ago too. Her one was a light blue 1.6GL that she had while I had my mk4 Escort. Both were fairly standard models. There was another Orion at Brooklands but I didn't bother taking any pics of it as it was heavily "modified" with horrible plastic bits, 'slammed' suspension, blue tinted windows etc etc. Basically it looked like cack in my opinion.
Of the yankee cars my preference is for a '69 Camaro over the Mustangs, Chargers etc - not that there were any '69 Camaros there, the ones pictured are '67. I could be tempted by the black Charger though.
The bikes shown included one of my all-time favourites and that was the Kawasaki Z900 A4, it is an itch that needs scratching.
Sam.
