If anyone is familiar with the series I'd be interested to know just how much they have cut. I started watching it out of interest but gave up halfway through. Far too many pertinent scenes and sections of dialogue were cut even before the first ad break, to the point where it just didn't tie together properly. Anyone watching it for the first time would be left questioning far too much. It reminded me of the 2012 film of The Sweeney with plot holes and questions left unanswered. The cut that infuriated me most was when I, Sam Tyler, walked in to the squad office and started stating where my desk was then asking where was my PC Terminal. Chops and edits like these serve only to discredit the series. Sam.

It doesn't say much for the people running the TV channels these days. I know they don't have as much money to spend etc. as they used to, but they could do a lot better.
Considering the work the production crews and the actors put into these series, to cut important bits out like that is criminal.
Charles.

Have got the box sets of both LOM & A2A and when it was shown on the Drama channel, I thought 'go on then, there's nowt on so I'll take a look'. Rubbish! They cut it so much that anyone watching for the very first time would think 'HUH???'. Some of the cuts were of relevant scenes/words that were needed to be shown. So why the heck I'm I still tuning in on a Monday night! ????? Especially when the boxes sets are directly beneath the TV. Oh well.................

These cuts are commonplace on TV shows we love on here Debbie, including The Sweeney. I do watch them myself on TV from time to time but it's no substitute for getting the box set out.

I can’t believe they would do that to these wonderful programmes. I’ve never seen them on TV (as opposed to DVD - come to that we don’t actually have live TV at the moment) but if that’s what happens I’m glad! I can, however, completely understand the compulsion to watch them if you find them, despite having the DVDs to hand! What I really envy is anyone watching them for the first time

What I really envy is anyone watching them for the first time I think that's something we all crave.. The ability to "unwatch" something so we can watch it again for the first time. Gene.

Think I’ll get the box set out again soon, not watched it for a while, must admit my mind set is I never tire of watching it, just like The Sweeney! They go hand in hand, and the sound track is summit else! I can get that first time buzz nearly every time! But I am a bit quirky, But I understand some people out there will say! You’ve watched it once’ what do ya need to go n watch it again for! Especially women lol! And I say’ along with the above, ‘ it helps to top my accent up 😆

I'm all for re-watching things that are good. I've got I don't know how many DVDs and box sets but I can't remember the last time I went close to a week without at least one episode of Mars or Ashes, and normally more. Shame there's only 54 hours to choose from, but I'm not bored yet! Anyone who doesn't re-watch things is not to be trusted! :)
