The wife was watching an episode of Steptoe earlier on. It must have been made for the last series. Harry H must have lost a little hair by then, because I noticed once again, that the hair piece he had on was awful. I would have thought the BBC could have sorted out something better for him. It spoiled it slightly. Charles. Blimey. I've watched these many times over and never noticed The last ones were 1974 i believe Charles. I'll have a look next time out.

That syrup he wears looks like a German helmet. He appears in 'Potter' in 1980, balding a bit on the crown but he still has hair.

As we've said before what a shame Harry passed away so relatively young. In his fifties if I remember right.
I think he learned his acting trade in the Joan Littlewood Theatre workshop. The same place John Lyons and Brian Murphy started.
Charles.

Talking of syrups, the Steptoe And Son film featured one of the great irish wearers, Regan's arch nemesis Barrie Ingham wearing not only a syrup but a ridiculously fake tash and sideburns. A shameless display of stick on hair I think you'll agree.

Yes indeed. Old Oily.
The smell of glue must have been overwhelming. Probably didn't help Albert's dodgy guts at all.

Perhaps Harold picked the syrup up when he was out on his round with Hercules.
I will have to have a another look at the two Steptoe films they made in the seventies. I'm sure he wasn't wearing the same one in them. By the way,Does anyone know if the second film was done after the end of the final TV series ?
Charles.

A shameless display of stick on hair I think you'll agree. Whenever I see Barry, I always remember him for playing Robin Hood in a sixties film. On the subject of syrups, I worked in a Royal Mail sorting centre for many years, and at least three of the gaffers there wore one. Charles.
