Did anyone else see this first episode of the new series?
For me it was well worth it - a tasty P5B coupe in Silver Birch over Admiralty Blue. Very nice!
I won't go in to details if others haven't watched it yet but the finished car would have looked even better if it was parked in my driveway!
After a quick search online it seems the car was sold on Car and Classic >>> HERE <<< and it was a condition of sale that the buyer appeared on Wheeler Dealers!

I've just watched this week's episode with the Fiat Panda 4x4.
Words fail me!
What planet were they on for this one?

Sam. The thing is Sam, someone paid for that!! What planet were they on? The paint job with the rubber bits in it was.....different. At least this week it was back to normal - the Alfasud turned out really well although they didn't have to do that much to it. Now they have a better budget they don't seem to have to do too much and so fill the episode with re-caps

That was the odd thing for me though; they have bigger budgets now as their 'profits' have grown ( ) over the years but then they lay out Wonga on a cheap heap!
Maybe they're making that a feature of each series: do up an oddball heap of crap? We saw it with the AMC Pacer last series, now the Panda this series. And you're right, someone paid up and bought it! What planet must they be on? Who knows, they may even be on the production team and were planted for the 'sale'?
Yes the Alfa looks better but I've not watched it yet. Started watching it on Tuesday but dozed off before the first ad break!

A Panda wouldn't but Ed did!
I didn't think you could make a car like that worse but he succeeded.

I've now managed to catch up on both the Alfasud episode from last week and the Caterham episode from this week.
Sadly alarm bells are ringing more now than ever before!
The 'buyer' of the Alfasud is a friend (or friend of a friend) of "My mate Paul" Brackley. I won't elaborate on how I know but believe me he is! So it looks like Paul may have added this one to his collection. Either way it looks to have been another staged 'sale'.
This week's Caterham though: when MB bought the car from Caterham they advised him that the car was 3 years old yet when up for sale it had a 64 registration! Is this legit for a first registration? I thought a first registration would have age-related plates? So, was it the same car?

I've just watched this. I, too, noticed the '64' plate & wondered the same thing. I always thought it was the age of the chassis that dictated the age of the car. Or, if a definite age couldn't be proved, it went onto a 'Q' plate. Although I don't think they issue those anymore. A mate has recently acquired a 1943 ex WD Matador that has never been registered (always used on trade plates) & he's having a hell of a game proving its age. May as well put it on a 64 plate if Mr Brewer is anything to go by.
