How about a bit of Joe Simon from 1973 and Step by Step. Interesting choice that one, Stan.
It is one that has passed me by. Interesting because it is evidently an independent production, but has more than a touch of Philly about it.

A rather catchy tune here from early 1976. It got to No. 2 in the UK; it was also a US No.1 hit.

I remember that record, which coincided with UK laws on the use of CB radio. Two of the finest from Radio 1, DLT and Paul Burnet, did a spin off record under the name of Laurie Lingo and the Dipsticks. The record reached No. 4 in the charts

It wasn't very good, I remember it. Also, it featured a brief Jimmy Saville impression at one point..
A few more one hit wonders from 1976 spring to mind- Slik For ever and ever (Midge Ure featured on it)
Disco Duck - so bad it was good IMO! J J Barrie No Charge - just utterly awful, Mississippi by Pussycat, Our Kid, You just might see me cry
Obscure or what!

Yes, not exactly a classic. I wonder why it got to the top of the charts in '76.

Disco Duck - so bad it was good IMO! Rick Dees And His Cast Of Idiots - so bad it was terrible. Ruby Flipper rose to the challenge :- ... but failed
