Probably my favourite Sweeney episode of the lot. So much happens in this - the opening home invasion and kneecapping, the caravan shootout, Hargreaves' nervous breakdown, the beating of Tug Wilson, Cook threatening Ames' sister, Regan's antagonism towards Hargreaves and the explosive climax. Brilliant.

Curiously I’ve never been keen on this episode. It’s one of the two in series 3 I’m not overkeen on, the other is Bad Apple. The follow up, On the Run, I do like though.

The first time I saw On The Run, I really liked it and it was my first taste of Tim Cook. He came across as an odious, disturbed parasite who deserved everything he got in the end and I thought Jack had a very lucky escape thanks to George. But when I watched Taste Of Fear afterwards, that blew me away. Right from the start, you wondered if Hargreaves had what it took to succeed in Jack's squad. First worrying signs were when he joined them on the caravan site raid and you knew he wasn't up to scratch. Norman Eshley portrayed that really well.

Norman was really good in that part. Taste Of Fear is one of the top Sweeney episodes for me. Charles.

Even though it’s not one of my favourite episodes, I do agree that the acting by all involved was excellent

The most humorous part was when Jack and George were in the office looking at addresses and house numbers. Loved the banter between them.

A run through most probably. Look at George Sweeney's boat. He's smiling.
