Perhaps the most famous TV impressionist Mike Yarwood has died aged 82, a mainstay of prime TV in the 70s. I believe he had been a resident of Brinswood House, a care home for retired entertainers, together with Richard O'Sullivan. Sad news RIP.

Sad news.
I remember being at home with my parents and they'd watch The Mike Yarwood Show whenever it was on, the show always finishing with his line: "...and this is me!"
R.I.P. Mike

Sad news indeed, RIP Mike. A while ago he made an on a late night show with Bob Monkhouse, I think it was probably his last performance.

Mike's best years were in the seventies when he had his own regular BBC show which was quite popular. He specialised in politicians of that era. I think the advent of Margaret Thatcher affected his career a bit though, as he didnt do her if my memory is correct.
I believe he only moved into Brinswood last year.
RIP Mike.

Sad news, I did like him in the 70s, he was very good as Harold Wilson and Ted Heath, but as Charles said, the next generation of politicians didn't lend themselves to impersonation, as a result, Mike was still doing impressions of Wilson and Heath in the 80s when they were no longer in front line politics so his career faltered

RIP Mike Yarwood, well remembered from my childhood and cornered the market in impressions for a while, but things did change with the advent of new talent in impressionists. He also tried a few other "non political" celebrities too and was quite good at Prince Charles I seem to remember and tried Andrew too and even John Major when he first became PM.
