BTW Hope you don't mind, I dropped a few photos in the thread as I was intrigued about how these cars looked. The P8 looks a real brute. I think it would have been popular. I can see why Sir William was worried as in many ways the P8 looked more modern than the XJ6. This prototype shows future concepts like the colour coded bumper at the rear. The interior looks to be a lot softer than its predecessors and not too dissimilar from cabins from the late 70s.

Looks wise I'd say the P8 was about ten years ahead of everything else and in its own way looed more futuristic than the P6 did when it was launched back in '63. If the P8 had gone ahead as planned, any survivors now would have a strong following. Villain

Yes kind of agree that P8 is 10 or so years ahead of it's time. As Del says looks like a more of a bruiser version of the Toyota/Mitsubishi top end saloons they had out in the late '70's especially the V8 versions in Australia.
