Some great lines in this one. "Motorway breakfast" is one of the best.

I agree with all the earlier comments that this really was The Sweeney on top form.
This has it all birds, Jags, violence, car chase and some great lines. Trevor Preston episodes are great in my book.

One of the best lines from the whole Sweeney series,at the end of the car chase across the muddy fields,Ron Brett wipes his face, looks up at Regan and says "Hope you're bloody insured"

A decent effort from Trevor Preston
Vic Labbett is a great character - totally self serving, cunning and ruthless
The women get a rough ride in this episode, both Vic's wife and mistress totally define themselves through their relationship to Vic. Though of course his wife gets her revenge in the end. It is a bit implausible that neither would have sussed him out quicker, though of course the same applies to his "best mate", who is also getting stitched up.
It's odd to watch Poppy straight after the much weaker Golden Fleece given how much more gritty this is. As others have said the use of London locations is superb in this one and really added to my enjoyment of the episode
Not up there with the very best but still really good
4/5
