From the 1981 Dudley Moore film, Arthur... Christopher Cross - Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do) His only big hit in the UK. 'Ride Like the Wind' and 'Sailing' didn't make the Top 40 over here. Vi Excellent song, I thought he was a good singer, and surprising that this was his only UK hit

What about Hurricane Smith, Oh babe, what would you say? I think it was a great song. He did one other, Don't let it die, which I wasn't keen on, and nothing else as far as I know

Clifford T Ward reached no 6 in 1973 with Gaye. He did release a few more singles which hung around the low end of the charts, but was seen more as an album artist.
I'm more familiar with Home Thoughts From Abroad which I don't believe was actually released as a single but got a lot of airplay when championed/rediscovered by Ken Bruce a few years ago.

Never heard that one before. It's from 1986 apparently.

Haven't heard it in years, though these days it reminds me of the version Gene's drunken lawyer sings in the penultimate episode of LOM.

Two American one hit wonders, popular over here that I remember from the 80s always got the foot tapping. Wild Wild West by The Escape Club and The Future's So Bright (I Gotta Wear Shades) by Timbuk 3. The latter was apparently picked up as an unofficial anthem of some Nuclear Science organisation who thought it was celebrating university graduates in the subject and didn't spot the irony.

Cartman mentioned this one in his retro charts post recently. From the scorching summer of 1983... and the first single I bought Jimmy The Hoover - Tantalise (Wo Wo Ee Yeh Yeh) Vi
