7) Donna Summer - I Fee Love (memory of my first successful "pull") Sam. Of a girlfriend I'm hoping.......... No - Turning Japanese by The Vapours would belong in the New Wave Top 10 section, 3L.

I think if the topic had been all the decade, then I would have included all the great Philadelphia label gems from 72-74 - The O'Jays, MFSB, The Intruders, Harold Melvin etc. Gamble and Huff were such fantastic songwriters/producers.

Disco and funk are just begging for a proper revival. There's legs in this music and every now and then a disco or funk inspired track appears. I like Sophie Ellis-Bextor's cover of Alcazar- Crying At The Discotheque which as we know samples the main groove from Sheila B Devotion -Spacer. Here's my favs;
Heatwave - Boogie Nights Evelyn "Champagne" King - Shame Bee Gees - You Should Be Dancing Le Freak - Chic Trammps - Disco Inferno Ladies Night - Kool And The Gang Rose Royce - Car Wash Chic - Everybody Dance Night Fever - Bee Gees Boogie oogie oogie - A Taste Of Honey

I thought Dua Lipas recent track, Levitating, was very similar to late 70s disco, it would have been a hit in, say, 79 if you could time travel it back to them and release it

Disco is unfairly dissed as a genre. Some great tracks were produced around this era, many were sampled for the rave era dance tracks and they bizarrely get more respect. Here's my top 10: Fully agree Del. Some of these sampled tracks like say Sex-o- Sonique - I Thought it Was You (Herbie Hancock and The Sweeney ), Pete Heller - Big Love (Stargard), Cassius - Feelings for You (Gwen McRae) and all the Disco inspired French Filter House in the late '90's certainly pushed me towards a lot of Disco tracks I like which I may not of considered had I stuck with a strict House/Techno style. Like every gerne of music there's good, bad and ugly and if a track is good it's good. Not all Disco sucks imo.

The Philly stuff is a class apart
Have you ever heard Dimitri's extended version of The Love I Lost, from when he was given the mastertapes
Mindblowingly good, this is the greatest thing you will hear this week, Howard M just letting rip as it builds and builds...
Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes - The Love I Lost (Dimitri from Paris super disco blend)
