One of my favourite episodes. Great seeing NHK put through its paces. Great lines too "Alright Cooney make a name for yourself" , "Move it a bit Charlie" and "Who taught you to drive? Evel Kinevil? Brilliant.

The pre-credits sequence was remarkable.
If you wanted to get someone interested in the show, this is one episode you would seriously consider.
One part of the plot that was important, but a bit suspect, involved the police-issue ball-point pen. Would Cooney have been so careless in leaving it in the footwell when he drove the villains car?

I think it was deliberate on his part, I think he wanted to get caught at least get the squad to think a littel harder about it. When you add the fact that he stopped for the porter at the Hotel, it's not your usual getaway set up. What always troubles me is the scene in the car when Carter reads Cooney's bank statement; bit nosey? Also when he shows it to Regan, I'd have been "what's that guv", given Cooney's personality. Anyway, it is a great episode and doesn't detract from the story. Also, Nicola Pagett is very nice
