A great car. They looked fast, even when parked!

Never driven one. The only classic Rover I've driven is an SD1, think it was a 2600. I have driven some of the later ones, but they don't really register!

Your car always looks great Saint, and thanks for uploading those great pics Villain, some interesting advertising material I've never seen mostly! I believe the German spec S1 3500's had P5B rostyle wheels as standard, and they did look great with them! Great period shots of the police ones too, I can just hear that 2 tone police siren sound now with the car's pulling off and think The Sweeney theme is going to start!!
Quite interesting news article that, about the 2 officers in the joyrider chase, thankfully they caught the toe rags but I bet the Granada owner wasn't pleased! A very late registered 3500 P6 as well, but then some of the police ones were. I'm sure the police forces later had 3500 SD1's too.
Great cars the P6's!

Never driven one. The only classic Rover I've driven is an SD1, think it was a 2600. I have driven some of the later ones, but they don't really register! A good one can be a sublime car to drive, especially if it has power steering fitted which although generally lighter than modern cars can make it feel very up to date. Drive a good one and you can feel the engineering and design that went into it, they do roll a bit but they hang on to the tarmac really well - from an observers point of view the roll aspect can look quite alarming, but from the driving seat it handles it feels more than alright... there's a reason they were used by the Police until 1983! Before it appeared in 'The Sweeney' and 'The Professionals' amongst other series, this 3500 registered 'RPH 122K' was a regular mode of transport for John Woodvine in 'New Scotland Yard' between 1972 and 1974... Another nice period brochure shot from the early '70s... Villain
