One of the powerful early episodes. Showing bot the shrewdness of villainy, and also Regan.
And the proximity of these to the local community.

Another strong early episode just seen on ITV4 which was presumably filmed in the summer of 74. Jack sailing close to the wind as usual by failing to back off despite warnings from Haskins and an MP!
Great locations, overlooking Battersea Power Station, and for railway fans, some Southern Region electric units. The parked cars were also of interest, mark 1 Cortinas and Triumph Heralds were seen too.
I think Jack was probably at his most rule bending maybe in Series 1

Seeing 'The French Connection' is cited by Ted Childs as a major influence & you can certainly see obvious similarities between Regan & Popeye Doyle in series 1, he's more abrasive & less pally with Carter & like Doyle he's unheathily obsessed with nailing the villain, more so than in the other 3 series.

That was a terrific piece on Del Henney Arthur. I'm sorry to say I missed it when you first put it up. I'm going to check up on Del now, to see if he's still with us. He would be about 79 now. I hope he was OK bringing his daughter up alone. He certainly had a hard life earlier on.
Charles.

I googled Del Henney and I was very happy find out he still with us I found an interesting Guardian article by Mark Kermode on the very, very stressful time Del and the other actors had making Straw Dogs in which Del had his most famous role. ( Besides Del, there were at least two other Sweeney actors in this film. ) www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/film/2003/aug/03/features.reviewCharles.

Agree with earlier comments that this is a very good episode.
Once again great work by Arthur putting TV Times listing and relevant articles for us to enjoy.
Appreciated - add greatly to so many threads. Probably because i recall reading some if these when originally shown.

Del was still acting up until at least 2015 where he played the part of a Vicar in a short film called "A Confession"
I heard a few years back that Del was working as a janitor/cleaner in flats somewhere in London though I can not corroborate the story at all. Sadly, Del never replied to my attempts to contact him.
