With Margaret Nolan and Brian Wilde, was this the closest 'The Sweeney' came to British comedy films?

Great smudges of Alfred Marks there Arthur Although the episode itself is easily the worst of Series 1 Vi You and Archimedes would make a good pairing Vi. Bit of a silly story but I like this ep with its funny moments, I prefer to it to Jackpot which is my least favourite.

Perhaps Archimedes should come and join me for a pint of milk stout in the Railway Arms sometime I do actually like Jackpot as it was the first episode of The Sweeney on VHS, although Regan may have come out first in 1987. Vi

I don't dislike 'Thin Ice',I actually quite enjoy it as an episode, although it's a bit tongue in cheek.Perhaps a little too much of the comedy element for a gritty programme like 'The Sweeney'.Fabulous green grannie in the episode.

Just rewatched this on ITV4 this morning. I actually like it, l like some of the dialogue, Jack losing the tracker, the banter with Moose, and the appearance of Brian Wilde. Love the green Granada too.
When was series 1 filmed? It was shown early in 75 and the early episodes has a summery feel so assume summer 74?
