Sad news indeed. Janice was a likeable broadcaster and was best known to me through the TOTP shows with John Peel. RIP Janice

Really sad news, and such a shock. A pioneering DJ who put the music at the forefront of her radio shows.
Thank you Janice for introducing me to the Cocteau Twins, Echo And The Bunnymen, Cookie Crew, Half Man Half Biscuit, The Pogues, Fuzzbox, Pete Wylie and all the other acts you championed on your show before handing over to John Peel. RIP

Interesting, I wasn't aware of that fact. Pioneering as you say. I suppose her working at R1 in the evening with John Peel helped their partnership form as we saw on TOTP.

Real shame! She was a great DJ.. used to listen to her a lot in the 80s..
