RIP Sir Clive Sinclair, a very talented man and pioneer, as others have detailed, the technology world has a lot to thank him for, which has spurred on the modern conveniences and devices we have today.
A lot more to him that the C5, OK - didn't really work but a lot of hoo har about it at the time. Just 2 years later they were reduced to pedal cars for hire for kids and teenagers at Pontins holidays camps - from what I saw, but that doesn't detract from the hard work Sir Clive did. One of Britains personalities of achievement!

Thinking back, the concept of the C5 was years ahead of it's time - given that there's a big push on Electric/Battery operated cars these days.
The home computer - the ZX81, ZX spectrum 48k and the later 128ks (other makes available) brought computing into homes.
There's quite a few games programmers these days, who began their craft coding on ZX Spectrum's in their bedrooms.
