I have now received The Professionals on Blu-Ray, I knew they were going to be good, but the picture quality is amazing! The Saint Yes, you're right, Mr Templar. They are amazing compared to the poor quality Contender DVDs that were available before the Network releases. The fact that they have been restored from the original camera negative makes a big difference. Vienna

I have now received The Professionals on Blu-Ray, I knew they were going to be good, but the picture quality is amazing! For those of you who have the original unrestored box set from a few years back, I recommend upgrading to the blu-rays. I would even go as far to say that based on the two episodes from series 1 that I have watched so far, the picture quality is even superior to that of The Sweeney blu-rays. The book that comes with the blu-rays, by Andrew Pixley, is also very informative reading, running to over 150 pages. The Saint Told you you wouldn't regret it. They are far superior in every way to the original dvd's. Too right Del Boy, cushty! The Saint

I haven't got it but I would be interested to know what the Blu rays are like. Hopefully they'll be great quality like the pro's set.

I think The Persuaders was filmed on 32mm film, so the blu-rays could be even better than the Pros or Sweeney that were filmed on 16mm. I will report back when I receive them.

I'll order Man In A Suit case this week before the sale ends. (I'm ashamed to say that except for a youtube video I've not yet seen this show.) In the last few weeks I bought four volumes of the ITV drama series Armchair Theatre. This series showcased a different play every week. I don't know if anyone's tastes on here run to plays. I've only watched one so far. A black comedy, starring Patrick Mcgoohan and Donald Pleasence, which I found very amusing. This play was broadcast live in 1958 and I was surprised at how good the picture quality and the production values were for '58. I was amazed how well the actors coped with their long lines on live T.V. There was hardly a glitch during the play. These days the soap stars make a big thing of it when they do a live show, with their short lines. Thank's for the tip off Saint, and please let us know if you hear of any more sales cropping up in the future.

I'm certainly a fan of tv plays Charlie, I've seen several of the Armchair Theatres ( and Armchair Cinema, where our beloved Sweeney began ), as usual with these collections they're a mixed bag but there's often a few hidden gems to be found. I bought 'Plays For Britain' when it came out, again a mixed bag but worth seeing.

Armchair Cinema is another series I'll have to pick up soon too. As you say Arthur that's where The Sweeney originally came from.

Cheers Arthur. There's some ok stuff in the offer such as The Persuaders on Blu-Ray and 50% off can't be bad.
