Madness traveled over to Sweeney Land to film the vid for The Return of The Los Palmas 7
Is Tober, heading for a fry-up breakfast, before Madness get there? :-
(Thanks to Gene for the screengrab)
Perhaps Tober is the Bed and Breakfast Man that they sang about? I notice the infamous Fiat Coupe also makes an appearance in the smudge. Sam.

Lilly Wood and The Prick (a group I’m sure everyone here is familiar with ) are a French folk pop duo who, in 2014, had a #1 hit in the UK with “Prayer In C”
The video was filmed in Berlin with the most salient places where they film being :-
Leaving Kurfürstendamm and driving past the landmark office block with the Mecedes Benz three pointed star logo on top
Skateboarding over Warschauer Bridge
Turning onto Bülowstraße, under the U2 bridge. The spire of the American Church is in the background
... and then driving past Nollendorfplatz U Bahn station
Waiting at the bus stop on Waldemarstraße
Graffiti spotting from the bus <<< Google Street View >>>Posing for a photo on Bülowstraße <<< Google Street View >>>Drinking on Oranienstraße

Another spot last night while watching the Now 80's channel. Now I must admit I don't recall this tune from Shakey at all, apparently it is from 1984 but I just recognised the locations: The stream and field locations I don't know but the church at the opening is St. Mary's Church in Chiddingfold, Surrey: The 'Now' view from >>> Google Streetview <<<The young girl's house - I didn't know this particular location but a quick search in Chiddingfold soon found it only 350 metres away from the church: The 'Now' view from >>> Google Streetview <<<As Shakey approaches the record shop and his hoards of adoring fans, this is in Downing Street, Farnham, Surrey. The 'Now' view from >>> Google Streetview <<<Driving away from the record shop and looking up Downing Street towards West Street, Farnham. The 'Now' view from >>> Google Streetview <<<At the T-junction the car turns right into The Borough, Farnham. The 'Now' view from >>> Google Streetview <<<As the car drives along The Borough it passes what was Woolworths with an archway to its left side. The 'Now' view from >>> Google Streetview <<<. This is actually from 2009 as it shows that arch open with the same gates as in the video. The 2019 view has different gates that are closed. Sam.

Another track that appeared on my playlist was soon recognised for its location last night: Maybe not everyone's cup of Tetley, personally a tune that I can take or leave, but the opening scenes with the car lots next to and along from the pub are in the Goldhawk Road. The pub (when it was still a pub) was called The Goldhawk and can be seen when scrolling back through the streetview history. The car lots have now gone and been replaced with a bland residential property >>> Google Streetview <<< Sam.

Oi, John, I've ad this stuck in my ead for ages now Me too.
IIRC didn't 'Hello John' and Alexi feature in that Area programme BBC 2 did when the Cortina got retired in 1983? It'd be nice if BBC Four or something repeated that as doesn't seem to have a had a repeat for many a year and was quite good from what I can remember. I know it's probably on YT but probably of dubious quality.

It would be good to see that Arena episode in good quality yes, it was uploaded to Youtube at one time, but I heard it dissappeared and then was uploaded again. Can't understand Youtube when they take something down after a short time while other things stay there for years.
About 3 of the Cortinas featured, still survive, one has since changed its appearance quite a bit though after restoration.
As for the Alexei Sayle song, it was quite often quoted by people in the 80's at the time, as a bit of a catchphrase in much the same way as some of Arthur Daley's sayings. First time I've seen the Sale video though actually.
