Good evening Lord B.
Yes, I attended on Sunday as well and took my son and youngest daughter. I spotted the downward trend too and admit that I used to be one of the traders there. Two years ago it was very busy with good takings each day but last year it was very quiet.
Guessing it would be the same this year I decided to go as a visitor and be free to wander around rather than trade, and I'm glad that I did. I never tire of visiting Brooklands, wandering around the museum and the hangars, and watching all the cars and bikes. But I could see from the traders in the paddock that they were never going to get rich from that event.
Shame about the event itself but maybe other events such as the Supercar Sunday, Auto Italia day, Mini Day, MG Day etc would more than make up for it for the museum's takings.
Sam.

Lovely pics Sam Tyler. I'd pick a green Ford Escort Mk 1 as my favourite car for the day.

This weekend was this year's Double Twelve event at Brooklands so I went along there with my son. We stopped off first in the members' bar for a liquid lunch and then joined proceedings. Much as I'd mentioned previously this event is sadly still on the decline. Attendance looked to have been up marginally from last year thanks to the better weather but the number of traders present could be counted on Harvey Smith's favourite fingers. The number of cars present has also declined but there were still a good few worthy of smudging:
The highlight for me was once again seeing two of Barry Sheene's championship winning bikes: the Heron Suzuki RG500 square fours.
Sam.

Brilliant pics again Sam. My pick has to be the Escort's and the Lotus Cortina's. Thanks again for sharing!

Good pics Sam. Sounds like a great way to spend time with your son on Fathers Day. Out of all the cars I'd take the Aston Martin DB4 and the Cortinas for a drive.

I'd take one of the F1 cars Great selection Sam - thanks for posting them I'll have to try and get to this event before it deteriorates further. It still looks like a great way to spend a day out. Gene.
