They actually reduced it because of a deformity ... that’s crazy! Dear little thing. I hope he enjoyed his little life just as much as his four-legged friends! I currently have the makings of a petting zoo - two rabbits, two guinea pigs and two (separate) hamsters. We’ve had some strange reactions to owning hamsters over the years like “but you don’t have kids??” Like they’re something only a child would want to own? Their loss. They’re lovely little things. Also, rodent poop is much less disgusting to clean out than dog or cat mess so I don’t feel like we’ve got the short straw!! Nor do our animals kill anything That happens to enter the garden! They knocked some off the price because he was the last gerbil there and we didn't want to part him from his brother. We'd also bought the hamster at the same time, two cages, little huts for inside the cages, chippings, and so on. Fear not, he and his brother had charmed lives, the cage was replaced with a large glass tank two-thirds full of chippings so that they could burrow to their hearts' desire. They never wanted for food, water, or cuddles with the kids. Our daughter is now a vet nurse and looking to become a vet and as such she and her boyfriend have a menagerie themselves so you're not alone with your petting zoo: four rats, four Guinea Pigs, an Angora rabbit, a kitten and four goldfish. The rabbit is in the house most of the time and uses the cat's litter tray whenever it needs to go. Sam

How lovely! That sounds fantastic. I would have loved to have done something like that but unfortunately the slightest mention of blood or actually anything medical and you’ll have to pick me up off the floor so, I was definitely not destined for that kind of career. I am the last person you want around if you’re physically hurt Well done to your daughter .

Three Litre has taken his name from the Ford engine that is in the Consul GT from The Sweeney. Ford engines have various names like the Pinto, the Cologne, and in the case of the early 70's 3.0 V6 it was named the Essex. It is also in Three Litre's avatar with the Essex name on top of the engine. Sam. I seeee. You love it, Sam. Whenever I ask a stupid question, you’ve got to make sure you highlight the obvious. . This is the problem with prequel characters, they always overcompensate for their feelings of subordination. xx Guv, can we get more girls like this on the squad? It’s beltingly good fun dealing with these questions.

My daughter would have hamsters as well if she could. She’s mad on capybaras at the moment which are a large rodenty type thing. Cats I’m not so keen on as they kill the bird life I like to watch.

Regarding your issue with blood Alex, I would imagine that if you ran into a situation when you needed to act you would just get on with and help out. Your human instinct to help others would overcome your fear.

I’d love that to be true, but I wouldn’t bet on it! It’s a pretty rapid transition from “oh dear” to “goodnight, Vienna” (not sure why Vienna is involved, come to that!). Capybaras are good. My dad’s favourite animal is a Tapir and for Father’s Day two years ago I took him to feed them in a keeper experience thing in our nearest zoo and there was a Capybara in the same enclosure. He was just like a huge Guinea Pig!
