Some people forget that Terry J wasn't just a Python - he wrote quite a bit of stuff too.
That's right
He co-wrote the brilliant Ripping Yarns with Michael Palin
Golden Gordon always sticks in my mind...
What is that Tomkinson? Its a model icebreaker sir! That's not a model, get it melted down immediately!

RIP Terry, thanks for the great contribution to comedy writing, humour, and knowledge of history and one The Python team! Shame he hadn't been well for the last 3 years or so, and he won't be forgotten.

Python was ahead of its time and is globally renowned. Terry's contribution was very important. He even directed Life Of Brian. RIP Terry

Quite a coincidence that 'Personal Services' was on talkingpicturestv last night as he only directed a handful of films.

Yeah good coincidence indeed that one Arthur.
Be nice if the Python films got an airing on the mainstream channels too, surely they don't offend that much now do they?

Yeah good coincidence indeed that one Arthur.
Be nice if the Python films got an airing on the mainstream channels too, surely they don't offend that much now do they? There will be someone, somewhere - there always is.
When they repeated "Monty Pythons Flying Circus" on the BBC during the early 1990s - certain episodes were re-edited/dubbed as some content was deemed to offend.
John Cleese and Eric Idle were quite vocal about the edits - and said they should be left alone.
If there was someone in 1990 moaning about some content - I'd think there almost certainly will be someone these days ready to sprout their piece.
It'd be nice for the Films and TV series to get a repeat, and perhaps some of Terry's other work.
BBC4 did repeat "Ripping Yarns" in 2014, sandwiched between random Play For Today episodes late at night.
