I forgot to write anything after watching Friday's episodes until now and I've forgotten most of it already
Nice to Marc 'n' Gene hit the top spot. Not that fussed about their duet on Something's Gotten Hold Of My Heart but they're both interesting artists
I always liked Fine Young Cannibals and I'd say their music has aged well
But, ultimately, a lot of eminently forgettable artists and music
Finally caught up on these 1989 episodes - and wasn't overly impressed. It seemed the music scene was (again) going through that dreadful cycle of sloppy numbers.
Quite liked the Fine Young Cannibals

Not much to get excited about last night but I actually quite enjoyed my zip through them
Interesting to note Morrissey was backed by three ex-Smiths on The Last Of The International Playboys, which I'd forgotten about
I was even quite impressed by Mick Hucknall singing live - and flawlessly
I'd completely forgotten Yazz's torch ballad - quite a departure from the previous two hits
Must be mellowing in my old age
Mike Read is still very annoying though - possibly even more now than then.

Not seen last nights offerings just yet - thanks for the heads up Lord E.
I'd forgot about the Morrissey track as well.
Not been a big fan of Simply Red; though Mick Hucknall is a good live singer - did he once front a reformed "Faces" in the place of Rod Stewart?

Yes he did Sparky. I never saw them though
I love the Faces and regret not having been old enough to see them play live

Totally loved the Faces. I was never old enough to see them live.
I have a live CD of theres from about 1973ish - after Ronnie Lane had moved on, and a few other bits.
Great live band.

From the "Nods as Good as a Wink" Album.
Loved "Stay with me" and "Too Bad" on this. The live album has Gasolene Alley and a cover of Twisting the Night away on it.

Here's the links for this week's two episodes.
Probably The Style Council's brief foray into House and S-Express are the only things I'm interested in here.

Not much to get excited about there although I must admit I didn't recall Tyree & Kool Rock Steady's Turn Up The Bass which is not too bad....
Or the charity version of Help by bananarama and lananeeneenoonoo which is pretty poor (but hey, it's for a good cause)...
