RIP David. It seems a very long time since we saw him doing his tv programmes. He was a great character. I saw him waiting for a train once at Liverpool's Lime St. Station in the early nineties. When I used to work there.

Argh a shame! Was a regular distinctive face for everyone, who watched and grew up with 70s television! He also had a wonderful gift of making those programs he did, sound so very interesting!! Regardless if you were a particular fan of plants or not!

I was saddened by this news. Every kid in the playground would have had a go at a Dr David Bellamy impression. Lenny Henry on Tiswas was probably to blame.
