Just seen Roy al House on tonight's TOTP, tune alright. About the best thing on there tonight in my biased opinion! Royal House(Todd Terry) and say Humanoid (FSOL) who'll be on in a few weeks time are more representative of that '88 House/club scene than what we've seen so far.

Royal House is a banger and a half - used to love jumping around to that one
The D Mob video is really great too - the song's a bit of an Acid house novelty tune but the vid...
Disturbingly I also quite enjoyed Deacon Blue's Real Gone Kid
I found them very annoying back in the day. I must be going soft in my old age but I think it sounds pretty good now. Hooktastic and precision tooled to be a massive hit but surprisingly enjoyable.

Strangely enough never knew to like or hate Deacon Blue yep Real Gone Kid and Dignity weren't too bad but they did a few stinkers too.
One of those acts I can take or leave but at least they're not Fairground Attraction.

Agreed Dirty Epic
I think my original opinion was probably correct - I just zoned out when they came out, and by 1988 I was in mid 20s so only occasionally watching TOTP despite still having a keen interest in music (which continues through to the present day)

Just watched the latest two episodes and literally nothing of any merit. Absolutely nothing*
*with the exception of the Bryan Ferry video of Let's Stick Together which must have been rereleased

Missed quite a few episodes of Top of the Pops 1988; so really couldn't comment until now...
I have managed to finally catch up with all the stuff I have missed - and indeed Lord Emsworth - there was absolutely nothing to really note - apart from Deacon Blue "Real Gone Kid" and the re-release of Bryan Ferry's "Let's Stick Together".
Anyone spot who's in Ferry's band in the video?
Drums = Paul Thompson (Roxy Music) Bass = John Wetton (King Crimson) Guitar = Chris Spedding (Ex-Womble and of 'Motorbikin' fame) Sax = Chris Mercer (Much respected session Musician - pops up on lots of stuff)
Oh - and Jerry Hall!
Not sure who is on the Piano...

Very true Three Litre
Not many artists can claim links with both the Sex Pistols and The Wombles

No. Or would probably want to! However he does seem to have done a lot of good stuff with people, sadly his own solo efforts didn't work out. People like him are major contributors to main artists success, I would have thought.
