Gotta say that Push it still really stands up - and that despite having heard it enough times to be thoroughly sick of it
Its overfamiliarity is the only thing which counts against it - so much so I probably wouldn't play it at a party, though I'm sure it's still a big floor filler at Wedding receptions etc.
Agree. I never liked their cover of "Twist and Shout" or that "Let's Talk about sex" one they did in the early 90s.
I've not yet seen Human Leagues 'Love is all that matters' - that's on Now 13.

Watched the last three episodes to be screened - the last September one, and the first two October ones.
I enjoyed Wee Papa Girl Rappers, Beatmasters with PP Arnold, and the snippet of Spear of Destiny.
Bananarama have displaced The Hollies at number one.

Yeah The Beatmasters with PP Arnold performance wasn't that bad amongst a bit of a poor bunch, in fact for my sins it was the first 'proper' record I bought although things would be added to and tastes changed accordingly over the years.
Kind of interesting PP did a fair bit of work with 'dance' acts in the early 90's like The KLF and Altern-8. Hopefully she'll appear with them if BBC Four repeats the 91/92 shows in a year or so. Very underrated singer PP Arnold.

Isn't that the one whose trousers keep coming undone?

Isn't that the one whose trousers keep coming undone? Actually that was PJ Proby I think. Still, easily confused!

Interesting about PP Arnold, DE, I just associate her with the original version of First cut is the Deepest from the 60s.

She's certainly had an interesting and varied career 3L & Carty.

To say the least Dirty Epic, she fled an abusive husband to tour with Ike & Tina, was brought to swinging London by Mick Jagger, and, as you say, ended up singing for the KLF amongst many others.
In 2017 a lost album The Turning Tide produced by Eric Clapton and Barry Gibb was released to a fair amount of acclaim
She's just bought out another album too

PP Arnold's backing band at one time were The Nice featuring Keith Emerson on keyboards heard on the song below.
Not only did she have a great voice she was a little cutie as well.

A slight change of pace here's PP with Stafford's finest Altern-8 from 1992.
