We all get sucked into it but does anyone like on the face of it TV programmes you shouldn’t really watch/like but get hooked into watching them?
I’m not talking about the usual X-Factor, reality, celeb, soaps, game-show, home/foodie shows etc. tosh but stuff you don’t really have a reason to watch/enjoy but do so anyway. It’s generally a lot of the stuff that’s on Pick, Discovery/Quest etc. For me it’s stuff like:
• Aussie Gold Hunters. • Police Ten 7. • Motorway Patrol/Highway Patrol. • Outback Truckers/Ice Road Truckers. • Real Crime documentaries. Etc.
They’re programmes that are usually time passers and being honest they’re crap but there’s something about them which hooks you into watching them and sticking with them for a few hours when you know really you should be watching/doing something else instead. I suppose with the Aussie/NZ stuff I watch/like because I’ve been out there but if these were UK set show I’d probably not touch them with a barge pole etc.
Has any else got any examples of this sort of stuff you watch?

I tend to watch stuff I've recorded or stuff on Netflix
That said, whenever I chance upon one of those cop shows where they follow cops around who encounter nefarious types doing reckless/stupid/criminal stuff then I'm in like Flynn. Likewise the rogue trader type shows, or the stings where they catch con artists. Sorry, can't remember any of the titles right now but I'm sure you know what I mean
I also adore the true crime and other docs on Netflix - the Staircase, Making a Murderer, Wild Wild Country, The Keepers etc.

Ice road truckers I don't mind and occasionally watch, yes. Other than that, Strictly Come Dancing and, odd times, bits of Neighbours.

Most of BBCs Morning Output that generally features a cheap & cheerful Camera/Director following the escapades of Council workers, Baliffs, High Court Sherrifs, Housing Enforcers, Parking / Clamping Enforcers and all that nanny state finger wagging shite.
But only in small doses as such tripe (paid for by our licence fee) makes my blood boil....

This is a good idea for a thread. I suppose the main thing I sometimes watch a bit off is 'Dinner Date' my daughter puts it on most mornings as she's getting ready to go to work. I watch a bit of it myself in between looking at my phone.
There are probably a lot worse things on the box.

My partner insists on watching Masterchef - which I find really tedious - and presented by a chap the looks like Mr Potato Head and his miserable mate.
My kids call it "Disaster chef"
Due to working funny hours recently - I have been unfortunate enough to catch the latest Afternoon game show offerings too... Heading close to Room 101 territory here.
What FFS is "Head Hunters"? I watched a couple of the episodes - and it felt like I was sat in a Management Level Team Building event - with all the lashings of Office Speak and a wide range of pretentious dick heads who couldn't answer basic general knowledge questions.
For some random reason - I started watching "Border Force" too (possibly because nothing else was on)

Have to confess to watching shopping channels & those 'infomercials' for useless exercise equipment, usually at 4am.
First Dates always seems to be on when I flick through the channels, after watching these type of shows you realise you're not such a bad person after all.
Gogglebox, seen a few of the Australian version as well.
Celebrity Antiques Roadshow.

Have you seen the "Eggsitter" advert that lasts about 20minutes, usually on the shopping ads on challenge before it starts in the morning??

These days I don't get much time to watch the decent TV let alone the rubbish stuff that's on. The only one I will catch from time to time is "Homes Under The Hammer" to see the before and after results. I tend to find those that keep the property for themselves do a reasonably good job but there are many that let the properties out that are happy with utter crap finishes or decoration.
