I do believe NHK will be there in Hall 5 someone has told me. I had the chance to go and display my car on the Cortina owners club stand but in my opinion it is not good enough for a show like the NEC. Too many things need doing on it and I wouldn't be at all relaxed displaying it in those halls. Also it was too much of a commitment with three days and all the messing about travelling back and forth. I went last year for the first time but it's not a show for me. Much prefer outdoor shows without too many stalls selling overpriced tat to bolt on your car but there are a few decent stalls at the NEC. I will miss seeing NHK but I'll hopefully see it somewhere else. I completely understand what you mean. My white 1972 TC Cortina is wonderful to me, but it is not show quality so there are some car shows that even though other Corty owners I know are displaying their cars (that have been restored and resprayed) I'll go just for a look. My car is 'survivor' and I get plenty of admiration from people (mainly when I am filling up petrol) telling me they love how real it is, and that I should never 'do it up' as it looks like it could still be in the 1970s. I hope you get a chance to see NHK295M at another show.
Thanks Batgirl. What you've said hits the nail on the head for me. I've owned mine for 21 years so I'm rather attached to it. I don't really want it perfect just better than it currently is body wise. The paint on it is rubbish (and incorrect shade) although it looks tidy from a distance but when you get up close it isn't the best and that is all that would have been on my mind had I taken it to the club stand at the NEC. I'm guessing that NHK will be at the likes of Classic Ford show and Ford Fair but again those shows aren't really for me either. I may have to force myself to attend one of those If the Consul is on display.

Cheers Villain, for the photo links, some fabulous shots and tasty steel there! Those Italian classic supercars were certainly something then and still are today! When all of those Lamborghinis, De Tomasos, Ferraris and Maseratis etc were new there was quite gulf between them and the everyday cars that most of the other manufacturers were churning out which made them all the more exotic, even the smaller stuff like the Ferrari Dino 308GT4, Lamborghini Urraco and Maserati Merak. They still look exotic and nearly unobtainable now thanks to their styling and flare, but these days there's a multitude of cars available in the various manufacturers ranges, filling the gaps with mid range sportscars, off roaders and SUVs etc which can all be used as everyday transport. I noticed a few late '70s and '80s BMWs at the show including a 535 and a couple of 633s, I've never really paid that much attention to them in the past but those models with the classic leaning forward 'sharknose' front end still look fantastic today. Good solid ones aren't cheap though! Another highlight for me was the sky blue Mk1 Granada estate, a dead ringer for the one my Grandad bought new in late '73 on an M plate, I was chatting with the owner telling him how we used to get ten of us in it on family trips down to Brighton back in the day.
