Been sorting out the loft and a pile of 35mm film cans. In one of the cans, I found this in all it's Kodak Ektachrome glory..
For the anoraks.. 25 frames per second @ 8 seconds, this would contain about 200 individual frames. (I am not going to count them). The squiggly bit on the L/H side is the soundtrack. Incidentally - the sound is 18 frames in FRONT of the respective picture.
Who needs CGI and all that? The marvel of artwork and manual animation.
Secondly - this is one of a couple of ITV logos that are still recognised today - who needs a branding consultant?

What a marvelous find! Just looking at it I can hear the accompanying jungle! Thanks Sparky I haven't been through the other cans (yet). I need to make some kind of winding device to wind through the film - as I don't own a Cinema Projector.
Amazing what's lurking in the loft.
As well an old wasp nest and an unopened 1955 bottle of Guinness...

Come on Sparks, just get me The Power of The Daleks, 1966!
It's in that old suitcase in the corner, under that old carpet.

Great find Sparky, clearly you were lucky enough to have the contacts and to be in the right place at the right time to be able to glean this sort of thing for memorabilia. In the scheme of things they're probably not going to have great monetary worth but for the nostalgia buffs or collectors they hold so much more interest. Thanks for posting them up on here for us all to see. Sam

Thanks for posting them up on here for us all to see. Sam Some of the cans came out of the skip at the old ATV studios in Birmingham when it closed down in 1997.
I was in the building removing some equipment purchased at auction by a mate - to reinstall in a small independent studio in Nottingham.
At the same time, the building was being emptied of loose bits - and (with permission) I took out what cans I could from the skip. So it was a case of being in the right place, at the right time and having the cheek to ask to take them!
The film idents are pretty collectable amongst collectors - I saw a Tyne-Tees one sell for £350.
I have an ATV and Central Production end boards too (on card) - will photo them.

Think that’s how a lot of stuff was saved, rescuing it from skips.
