I spotted a couple of vintage shop fronts today whilst in Muswell Hill, North London. These businesses are still trading, I went into W Martyn, they are a tea and coffee specialist, the interior of the shop is like stepping back 100 or so years! It would be good for members to add to this thread with any old/vintage shop fronts that they spot The Saint

Excellent idea for a thread ST. That Broadway Hair Stylist gaff is brilliant. Even the mosaic tiles reek retro. Gene.

I do love a characterful shop!
In the town near where I live a lot of individual shops have been replaced by the same ones every other town has got.
Boring.

Good idea for a thread Simon Although not a shop front, Annie and I stopped in at a chippy in Pokesdown a few weeks back and the interior was very much stuck in the 70's: The interior may have been dated but at least the fish and chips weren't. Sam

Quite like the looks of that chippy. In similar vein, there was a cafe type place in the Arndale in Manchester, near where the bus station used to be, which hadnt changed at all since the 70s, it was full of orange and brown. It was certainly there until about 10 years ago, but I havent been since so its probably gone now, sadly.

Would Frimley Green Club count - looking at the smudges on The Guvs 'Hearts and Minds' investigation, it hasn't changed - or has it just been restored to match the original?
Great thread!
