RIP Freddie.
He was very good as Sweeney Todd in a 1970 'Mystery And Imagination' play. On the Sweeney theme he played Dennis Waterman's dad in the Dennis Potter tv play 'Joe's Ark'.

Dennis Potter did some weird stuff on TV if I remember. Plus those fire engines. Presumably.

I first seem to remember Freddie from 'The Elephant Man.' after that I realised of course that he'd been in loads of other productions over the years. I know he had a good spell in the soap 'Emmerdale' over the years.
I didn't realise he was as old as 91 though. He was a good actor.
RIP Freddie.

Also in the film Firefox with Clint Eastwood, bit of a naff film though. Would have like to have seen him on TV a lot more.

RIP Freddie Jones, a very prominent character actor, did quite a bit of TV work going back to the 60's and with ITC. He did tell a few Jackanory stories I remember as a kid, and I remember him as Harold Pelham's (Roger Moore) Physchiatrist in The Man Who Haunted himself. I also remember the 1991 Inspector More episode "Who Killed Harry Kidd" as the unfortunate murder victim, although he was seen in many flashbacks in the story.
