What great songs in your opinion do you rarely hear played on the radio these days? A couple that spring to my mind are "All night long" by Rainbow (which in my opinion was their best song) and "Reelin' in the years" by Steely Dan which I heard on the radio the other day for the first time in ages!

I too heard Reelin' In The Years the other day John. Classic track!
I haven't heard "I'm Not In Love" by 10cc for quite some time.

Great thread Mr Steed Not a classic however you never hear "One More Night" by Yellow Dog. I realise they are a one hit wonder, but there are others who get played more, "Party Fears Two" by The Associates gets plenty of airtime and it's Move It by Cliff is another one the you never hear, one of the first Rock 'n' Roll hits from the UK.

We're all alone by Rita Coolidge from the summer of 77 is a song I love and is rarely played.
Good shout on Yellow Dog, Steve, love that!

Here's a couple I've not heard on the radio for donkey's years:
There's plenty more to add too.

I haven't heard Randy Vanwarmer's classic 1979 song on the radio much in recent years. One hit wonders seems to get ignored more on oldies radio stations; it's also very difficult to obtain on CD, too Vi

If you think you know how to love me by Smokie. I liked them, they ended up big in Europe, for some reason the only one of theirs which seems to be occasionally played is Living next door to Alice, which I thought was one of their weakest.

There was a piece of music I used to hear practically every day on the radio coming from my parent's room in the morning when it was time to get up to go to school. No idea if it still gets played as I rarely listen to the radio, but I very much doubt it. I grew to hate hearing it.
All I could remember of it were the words 'he never goes out in the rain', googling it I discovered it was this song which reached 53 in the charts in 1980-

I'm surprised that made the top 100 let alone get as high as no.53!
