Well once again the weather gods were smiling on us, I almost got a tan. It was great to be back in the smoke again and meeting up at Colet Gardens always has a special magical feel about it. You can almost hear John and Dennis. So much history in that street. An early start for me with a couple of hours drive up but the thought of a breakfast at Wethers to look forward too spurred me on though I walked right past the pub in my sleepy daze. Thanks Steve Austin for shouting out to me. The walking tour idea of a meet is great because we all get the chance to mingle and chat with each other. Nice to see Sam, Stan and Michael Rodd back in the fold again too. I think this meet must hold the record for the most locations in one day. And what locations they were, all absolutely superb. After coming to the meets now for 12 years it was great to see so many that we had never seen before. Also sad to see how some places have changed beyond recognition but with an expert such as Gene giving us the tour we were fully genned up on how it was and how it has changed with his expert location knowledge and attention to detail that is second to none. Hours of work that is so appreciated by us all. Thank you Gene.
So massive thanks again to Gene for all he does to make these meets the best you'll get. You sir are the man.
Big thanks to Steve Austin for printing the excellent booklet and a big thanks to everyone else who was there. Great mates to spend a day out in London with.
Here's to the next encounter. Now I must go and watch the Robbery car chase again. What a top film that is eh?

Great pics guys. The area around Notting Hill seems to be pretty radically different to how it was during some of the filming of Robbery, Minder and The Sweeney. Even more so 10 Rillington Place. At one time the area was very run down, associated with cheap lodgings and the notorious slum landlord, Peter Rachman. Now it looks very sanitised in comparison.

I've just shared that Gene. Thanks for sharing on how to do it.👍 I actually only joined facebook after being urged to by a childhood friend of mine (Through a third party), who funnily enough never really bothered with me on it. A few other people I'd known as a child contacted me though. I had to Unfollow a couple of ex-workmates as their constant posts on politics annoyed me no end. I don't go on it all that much really. Its great for groups though I've joined a few of them. Thanks again Gene.

I had exactly the same thing on Facebook, Charles. One bloke who remembered me from junior school, and I hadn't seen since I left there in 1971, friended me and started with a constant stream of political garbage, of the borderline neo Nazi kind so I had to quickly unfollow him. Agree groups can be interesting though
