The same principals as a concept car these three prototypes were produced to show off design ideas to the public and influence the design for the Central Line upgrade project in the early 90s. These prototypes were displayed at Woodford Central Line for an open day. They ran in service on the Jubilee Line in 88 89.

The red Q stock in the photos look similar to the ones I remembered from the circle line from 74. Would these have been on that line at that time?

Thanks for posting Del, as far as I recall they were not at the Museum Depot. The Saint Update: I just checked the London Transport Museum website and it appears that the green one is at the depot, I must have missed it!

I just checked the C stock on wikipedia Del, and the trains i remembered were definitely not those, they were much older looking and were red, the interiors had a kind of pre war look. The article mentioned that O and P stock were also on the circle at this time, and a look at those suggests they were probably the trains I saw.

They must have been the old Red District line stuff, CP stock I think. Those survived until 1978.

IIRC a few of the last of these trains in service on the District appear over Putney Bridge in The Pros episodes Rogue and Backtrack.

That would mean they were running on the Wimbledon to Edgware Road part of the District Line. The C's took over Circle line duties. I'll look out for them when i watch the pro's next.

Were these still running on the District, Del in 1982? I know you mentioned they went in 1978 a few posts earlier but I'm sure I remember a few 'red' trains running alongside the C's and (then new) D-Stocks on the District/Circle when I came to the smoke as a nipper back then!
