Great pics Saint and what a fantastic collection. The first Routemaster and DMS Fleetline and some really rare World War 1 era stuff. My first trip to London was in 74, and we stayed in a hotel in Bayswater. I remember using the buses and tube to get around, the inner circle line was the tube route we used and the red trains were still running in it then. The Buses were Routemasters and some Fleetlines, I saw about three or four RTs in the week that we were there.

Wonderful stuff Mr T. Thank goodness this stuff has been preserved. Thanks for posting all the pictures. A real treat, as you say.
Gene.

That looks a fabulous place Saint - thanks for the photos and excellent that so much has been preserved to see - a glimpse of what travelling around would have been like in different past eras!

Great post and photos Saint I'd love to visit the museum myself sometime, when it's open. I've been to a smaller Transport Mueum in Covent Garden years ago, (Don't know if that one is still going?) but this one seems brilliant. I visited the RAF Museem at Hendon about three years back that was really good too.

This is a working depot that restores and keeps the above as a reserve collection Charles. The main museum to show this stuff is the one you mention at Covent Garden and is smaller than this place. Acton usually does two open days a year in March and September. The buses and the Northern Line 38 Stock Red tube sometimes go out on special tours which is good to see.
I've worked on some of those museum pieces namely the A stock ex Metropolitan and East London Line train. And a not shown Mk1 72 Stock Northern Line unit.
Were the prototype Central Line trains still in there Saint? They are known as Red,Green and Blue.

Looking through my photos I found these of Q stock from 1938 - is this the prototype Central Line train? The Saint

No Q stock was ex District line. The Central Line ones were mid 80s.
