I stumbled upon this classic earlier... Anyone remember it? Gene. Did you know that Murray Walker came up with the 'made to make your mouth water' slogan when he worked in advertising?

Didn’t he do the Mars one as well, work rest and play? Or was part of the team that did.
I prefer his F1 work.

Yes Murray Walker came up with "A Mars a day helps you work, rest and play" as well as "Go to work on an egg".
Unfortunately I can't access Youtube right now otherwise I'd post them up here.

Murray was great at F1 commentary, IMO. I don't care about his gaffes, he was very entertaining to listen to.
The Murray/Hunt partnership worked well.
These days they are too keen to use young people because they perceive everyone has to be young and good looking.
Same with actors.

I haven't been through the whole thread so am hoping this hasn't been posted before. It's not an advert but a spoof advert, the one with Robert Mark about Good Year tyres - the I'm convinced it's a major breakthrough for road safety one.
This spoof is from Not The Nine O Clock News though I clearly also remember The Goodies doing one too but I can't find that one on YouTube...

I remember this well, really quite funny as they captured Robert Marks rather stiff delivery pretty well.

Yes I remember that one, both the original tyre advert and the send up by not the nine o clock news.
Still car related, I've just remembered a couple more for Vauxhall Opel, about the time the front drive version of the cavalier came out, which would have been about 1981, and this young lad in the showroom used to just get the job of cleaning when he wanted to be a salesman. I might be wrong here, but the older guy who was the boss at the dealership I vaguely thought was Michael Medwin from Shoestring. Anyone know or remember the adverts?

The only 80s Vauxhall ads I remember had Nigel Hawthorne and Tom Conti. I can't recall Medwin though he may well have been.... Gene.

Way back on page two of the thread I posted the classic 1970 version of the 'Milk Tray' ad with Gary Meyers doing the business, I forgot to mention that the voiceoever was initially done by Peter Wyngarde, but other actor's voices were dubbed over it on occasions. It's still one of the best though...! Villain

But not sure if Michael Medwin is in it?
