Friday Night Dinner follows the Jewish Goodman family from north west London as they attempt to have their Friday night dinner. The 5th series has recently finished on channel 4. Last Friday night Gene and myself visited the house that was used in the series, the house is located in Mill Hill, north west London. The Saint ThenNow

The catchy theme tune is from this track : Miike Snow - Animal (Punks Jump Up Remix) (Friday Night Dinner Theme) For those who don't know Friday Night Dinner is back on CH4 with series 6. The first episode aired last week and is on All4 to catch up with. The continuing saga of the Goodman's is the best thing on the telly right now for me and I'm looking forward to episode 2 tonight at 10PM. How are this poor family still together because if it can go wrong it will for these guys. Loosely speaking this show is based around Shabbat dinner in the middle-class secular Jewish Goodman family home. The comedy revolves around the central family characters and you can guarantee something crazy will happen to them every week The action often descends into a farce that leaves you cringing or just plain laughing out loud. It is very cleverly written by Writer/Producer Robert Popper of whom his own family experiences were the inspiration for the series. If you've never seen it i'd say watch the first two series to give yourself time to acquaint yourself with the family and their bonkers neighbour Jim (and his dog Wilson). Also to see the array of others that cross paths with the fam and the resulting chaos. It's well worth a watch in my opinion. Alongside the writing the cast is really good too. Tamsin Greig- Jackie Goodman Paul Ritter - Martin Goodman Simon Bird - Adam Goodman Tom Rosenthal -Jonny Goodman Mark Heap -Jim Give it a go and look forward to your thoughts here on this thread. Del
