I also don’t know why they made the 1.3 version of the Mark 4/5 Cortina or the Capri either. The fuel consumption of them was actually worse than the 1.6 as they had to be revved a lot to keep up with the traffic.

Apologies for missing this thread recently. Love the Capri but personally never had the chance to drive one. Sadly don't think I will going for silly £ these days. Personal fave was the 280 injection solid gear that one.

Good thread Gene. Never owned a Capri though had plenty of other classic fords back in the day. My mate at college had a MK2 which i believe are now the rarest and it was very light on the back end and i remember him losing it easily on a slightly damp roundabout. I would have a Mk1 if i had the choice.
